I chose this tiny painting to be the representative painting for my art exhibit, Love’s Hidden SymMeTrees because it means so much to me.
I began it shortly after I moved back to Charlottetown to live at our old house on Passmore so I could be closer to Michael at the end of his life at palliative care. After working on it for a couple days I took it to his room and placed it in a place where he could see it and I said, ‘see honey I made a painting for you.’ He had always encouraged me and my creativity and gently nudged me towards painting off of the iPad.
I continued working on this painting when I moved back home to our rural house after he passed. I took my time with it and returned to it until it felt complete. I humbly consider it my masterpiece.
